Senior Security Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements

• Practical hands-on experience using Python or similar to automate tasks, connect APIs, and manage infrastructure state with Terraform
• Proven experience configuring or hardening security controls within cloud environments such as AWS or GCP, including IAM and network or identity boundaries
• Experience handling data formats such as JSON to parse logs
• Enthusiasm for leveraging advanced AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex to increase engineering output and delivery speed
• Pragmatic security mindset with a focus on building practical defensive posture rather than completing compliance checklists
• Bias for action and an execution-focused approach to implementing security controls and detections
• Ability to communicate technical IAM architecture details with platform engineers and explain control changes to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Drive security configurations across our stack using a Terraform and GitOps workflow
• Proactively set up, tune, and configure our InfoSec tooling to maximise defensive utility and improve our security posture
• Build and maintain integrations between cloud providers, SaaS platforms, and our core security tooling
• Engineer log pipelines into our SIEM and automate evidence feeds into our compliance platform
• Architect and deploy agentic workflows and lean automation scripts to eliminate manual toil
• Design and deploy practical guardrails, CASB, and data loss prevention policies across network boundaries and collaboration tools such as Google Workspace
• Safeguard data and enable safe tooling usage without creating engineering bottlenecks
• Collaborate closely with SecOps, AppSec, Architecture, Security GRC, and IT Systems leads to translate security requirements into working configurations, automated pipelines, and custom data integrations
