[Remote] Senior Analytics Engineer – P&C Insurance (Policy / Claims / Finance)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Rockwoods Inc is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer with recent hands-on property and casualty insurance experience.

The role focuses on building analytics datasets, reporting layers, data models, dashboards, and business-ready data solutions across policy, claims, billing, and finance while collaborating with insurance stakeholders.

Responsibilities Build analytics datasets and reporting layers for P&C insurance Work directly with Policy, Claims, Billing, and Finance data Translate insurance business requirements into data models, reporting logic, and actionable insightsAnalyze and validate data across policy, claims, billing, and finance source systemsBuild dashboards and reporting using Tableau and/or Power BI Perform data mapping, testing, reconciliation, and validation to ensure reporting accuracyWork with business stakeholders across underwriting, claims, policy administration, billing, finance, and operations Identify data gaps and inconsistencies and work with technical teams to resolve them Skills 6–10+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, BI, or a related roleRecent, hands-on P&C insurance experience is requiredStrong understanding of at least two of the following P&C data areas:Policy – policy lifecycle, transactions, coverage, endorsements, renewals, cancellationsClaims – claims lifecycle, reserves, payments, losses, claims statusBilling – invoices, payments, receivables, billing transactionsFinance – premium, earned/unearned premium, general ledger, financial reporting and reconciliationStrong SQL and data modeling skillsExperience building analytics/reporting datasets and dimensional modelsHands-on experience with Tableau and/or Power BIExperience with data validation, testing, reconciliation, and data qualityAbility to work directly with business users and understand insurance terminology and processesP&C insurance domain knowledge is non-negotiableCandidates with only general analytics/data engineering experience, or candidates whose P&C experience is not recent or does not include Policy, Claims, Billing, or Finance , will not be consideredExperience working within a P&C insurance carrier, MGA, insurance technology company, or insurance data environmentExperience with dbt, Snowflake, or cloud data platformsExperience with Qlik, SSIS, or other ETL/data integration toolsExperience supporting insurance financial or regulatory reporting Company Overview Our team has diverse group of experienced and talented professionals who can deliver everything from individual consulting and training to full-scale re-engineering, software planning, integration, database design, data migration and implementation.
