Requirements
- We need strong commercial experience with Python and Django.
- We need experience developing modern web applications.
- We need a strong understanding of REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
- We need experience working with Git version control.
- We need experience debugging and resolving complex technical issues.
- We need the ability to produce high-quality, well-tested and maintainable code.
- We need someone who takes ownership of their work and follows tasks through to completion.
- We need the ability to work to deadlines and manage workload independently.
- We need strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- We need good written and spoken English.
- We need the ability to work independently within a remote team.
- We need a collaborative approach when working with developers, stakeholders and team members.
- We need someone who can balance speed of delivery with long-term maintainability.
- We need flexibility and responsiveness when priorities or requirements change.
- We need comfort working in a growing business where priorities may evolve.
- We prefer around three or more years of commercial Python development experience.
- Experience with ERP systems, ERPNext, Saleor, marketplace or e-commerce platforms, cloud hosting or deployment would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
- We develop new functionality using Python and Django.
- We maintain existing platform features across our systems.
- We build and maintain APIs and backend services.
- We develop and maintain integrations between multiple business systems, including GraphQL APIs and third-party services.
- We resolve bugs and improve existing code.
- We identify opportunities to improve platform performance, scalability and maintainability.
- We participate in technical planning and architecture discussions.
- We contribute ideas to the future development of our platforms.
- We produce clean, well-tested and maintainable code.
- We create technical documentation where appropriate.
- We work closely with our other developer, directors and project stakeholders during planning, development and review.
- We manage our own workload and tasks, including areas of overlap with our full-time developer.
- We help shape technical decisions and improve development processes.
- We share knowledge and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- We provide development and technical support across our UniGreenScheme and Labduck platforms.
