• Must hold SC Clearance
• Strong experience supporting enterprise Oracle and Elasticsearch environments
• Support and maintenance of legacy applications and infrastructure
• CI/CD pipeline development and support
• Automated testing and code refactoring
• Experience with Nginx, Apache Tomcat and HTTP services
• Experience with ETL processes
• Experience with containerisation and virtualisation, including Docker and VMware
• Experience with Elasticsearch administration and support
• Oracle 11 administration experience, including RAC, RMAN and Partitioning
• Experience with auditing and protective monitoring integrations
• Experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Oracle Solaris environments

Responsibilities

• Provide L3 support and problem resolution for critical production systems
• Maintain and enhance legacy infrastructure and applications
• Implement changes within complex legacy environments
• Act as a subject matter expert for assigned platforms
• Produce and maintain technical documentation
• Perform peer reviews and maintain engineering standards
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development

We are hiring a DevOps / Platform Engineer for one of our local clients on a £550 p/d Inside IR35, remote, 6 month+ contract basis. This role supports a critical policing platform within a legacy Oracle-based environment. We offer the opportunity to work across application, database, infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD improvements in a complex enterprise setting. The role sits within a team supporting legacy platforms and technologies including Oracle, Elasticsearch, VMware, Docker, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Solaris, Windows Server, IBM Initiate MDM, and related middleware and platform services.
