Senior Software Engineer

Salary: £65,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for strong professional experience with Python backend development.
• We need a solid understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and scalable application design.
• We value experience working across complex, multi-surface product ecosystems.
• We are looking for someone with the ability to mentor and elevate engineers around them.
• We need clear, proactive communication, especially when things are uncertain.
• Frontend experience with Svelte and/or jQuery is beneficial but not required.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure is beneficial but not required.
• Experience with OpenAI APIs or LLM-powered application development is beneficial but not required.
• Experience with browser or email extension development is beneficial but not required.
• Experience with CRM integrations is beneficial but not required.
• Experience with observability and operational tooling is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• We own the delivery of complex features and systems end-to-end.
• We break ambiguous product problems into scalable technical solutions.
• We make architectural and implementation decisions across the engineering stream.
• We write maintainable, predictable, scalable code and expect the same from others.
• We conduct code reviews that improve both the code and the engineer who wrote it.
• We mentor junior engineers on implementation, design patterns, and engineering practice.
• We identify and resolve systemic technical issues, not just isolated bugs.
• We improve deployment reliability, monitoring, and observability.
• We communicate trade-offs and risks clearly to engineers and non-engineers alike.
• We participate in and lead production incident response where needed.
