Network Engineer - Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN

Salary: £39,600 - 42,000 per year

Requirements

• Experience designing and operating Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN
• Excellent understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
• Knowledge of VRF-based segmentation, AAR, QoS design and enforcement
• Familiarity with Security services (Firewall, IDS/IPS, URL filtering)
• Hands-on experience with Cisco vManage dashboards and APIs
• Ability to provide input for WAN/LAN changes and risk assessment
• Proven experience in leading and supporting complex network changes
• Strong governance experience in regulated or Critical National Infrastructure environments
• Skills in Change, Governance & Operational Assurance, including Configuration drift detection
• Flexibility to provide 24/7 Shift Rota
• Ability to help with best practices for security posture and firmware upgrades
• Competence in maintaining an end-to-end view across WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi
• Experience supporting 3rd Line teams on complex routing scenarios
• Proven technical authority experience
• Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and support complex network changes and incident troubleshooting
• Act as a technical advisor to customers and internal teams
• Provide input for simple, medium, and complex WAN/LAN changes
• Assist in operational governance and risk assessment for proposed changes
• Ensure strong governance including configuration drift detection
• Help with best practices for security posture and firmware upgrade strategies
• Maintain a strong end-to-end view across WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi
• Support 3rd Line teams on complex routing scenarios and incidents
• Foster strong customer relationships and work effectively in a team environment

We are seeking a Senior Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Engineer for a 3-6 month contract position, offering a competitive pay rate of £330-£350 per day (Outside IR35). This role is primarily remote but may require occasional travel to our Newbury office.
