3rd Line Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements

• We require strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server solutions, including Active Directory, Group Policy, File and Print services, and Remote Desktop Services.
• We require proficiency in PowerShell scripting; experience with other scripting languages such as Bash or Python is beneficial.
• We require a solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, VPNs, and network connectivity.
• We require experience administering Microsoft 365 services, including Email, OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint.
• We require experience administering Entra DS in standalone and hybrid environments.
• We require experience administering Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure virtual networks, and Azure Storage Accounts.
• We require an understanding of IT security practices and tools such as antivirus, email filtering, web filtering, and RBAC.
• We prefer previous experience in a 3rd Line Support role.
• We prefer experience working in an MSP environment.
• We strongly prefer active Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 certifications.
• We require the following experience levels: Active Directory 3 years, Microsoft Windows Server 3 years, IP networking 2 years, Azure resource and infrastructure administration 1 year, Entra DS administration 3 years, Microsoft 365 administration 3 years.

Responsibilities

• We provide high-quality support for incidents and service requests raised through our Service Desk.
• We support technologies including Active Directory, Entra DS, Group Policy, Intune, Exchange Online, Windows Server, and Remote Desktop Services/Azure Virtual Desktop.
• We respond to monitoring alerts across Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services, network connectivity, and Microsoft 365 services.
• We investigate and resolve security alerts for Microsoft 365 users and Azure workloads, including suspicious activity, antivirus alerts, and EDR notifications.
• We review, install, and test security and application updates, using automation to improve customer environments.
• We ensure the operational integrity, performance, and security of customer cloud-based services.
• We collaborate with customers and internal teams to implement migrations and deliver solutions that meet customer requirements.
• We maintain regular communication with customers through Service Desk tools, email, and Teams meetings.
• We work a hybrid schedule of 2 days remote and 3 days in our Bromsgrove office.
• We participate in a rotating shift pattern and on-call responsibilities, with occasional out-of-hours work.
