Salary: £64,000 - 104,000 per year
Requirements
- We need competencies in digital audio and video studio environments, control systems, audio and video edit technology, MAM, contribution and distribution systems, and strong understanding of IP production environments, including SMPTE 2022/2110.
- We need a solid understanding of the production and editorial process and how technology failures impact content production and audience output for linear platforms and markets.
- We need solid knowledge of service management processes, especially service transition, service operation, event management, incident management, major incident management, problem management, change management, and service reporting.
- We need strong written and oral communication skills.
- We need the ability to provide leadership during major incident response.
- We need the ability to set priorities, provide direction, and support resolver groups to restore services quickly through workarounds or fixes.
- We need the ability to influence groups that do not report to us.
- We need the ability to provide timely, accurate, clear, and concise communications to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- We need comfort working onsite.
- We need candidates who can work in a 24/7 supported environment.
Responsibilities
- We receive incoming calls, communications, and tickets.
- We perform first-call triage, resolution, dispatch, and escalation for incidents ranging from low priority to on-air emergencies.
- We monitor services and equipment across a wide variety of systems and technologies.
- We coordinate communication around major incidents with organization-wide impact.
- We resolve incidents through remote control software, knowledgebase research, or in-person support for onsite customers.
- We log all incidents and requests in an IT service management tool.
- We handle broad communications through enterprise notification systems and organizational chat solutions.
- We support customers across production teams, engineering groups, on-air talent, journalists, and editors in multiple bureaus and cities around the world.
- We shadow other engineering teams and participate in implementation-level work on larger projects.
- We assist with cabling, equipment installation and removal, integration, and testing in terminal gear rooms, data centers, and broadcast facilities.
- We provide leadership during major incident response and help restore services as quickly as possible.
- We work with onsite teams as needed.
