Network Engineer

Salary: £43,000 - 72,000 per year

Requirements

• We require at least 5 years of networking experience.
• We require strong experience in enterprise-level environments.
• We require the ability to work across physical networking and software-defined networking environments.
• We require a solid understanding of L2 and L3 networking concepts.
• We require experience with high availability protocols.
• We require experience with next-generation firewalls.
• We require experience with network monitoring tools.
• We require experience with troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark.
• We require experience with VPN and remote access technologies.
• We require experience with wireless administration.
• We prefer CCNA or an equivalent certification.
• We require sole British nationality.
• We require willingness to undergo DV clearance.
• We require no dual nationality.
• We require that applicants have not spent more than 3 months outside the UK in the last 10 years, or can fully document this.

Responsibilities

• We support and maintain enterprise-scale network infrastructure.
• We troubleshoot and resolve network and security issues.
• We configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
• We work across both hardware deployments and software-defined networking environments.
• We monitor network performance and recommend improvements.
• We support network design and delivery for new defence projects.
• We collaborate with security teams and external suppliers.
• We produce and maintain technical documentation.
• We combine BAU support with project delivery in a hands-on engineering role.
