Network & Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £48,000 - 48,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for a highly capable infrastructure professional with strong enterprise networking expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• We require proven experience managing large-scale enterprise network environments.
• We require a strong understanding of routing and core network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
• We require deep knowledge of network security principles and technologies.
• We require experience with firewalls, VPNs and encryption standards.
• We require hands-on experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware vSphere.
• We require strong Windows Server administration experience.
• Exposure to containerisation technologies would be beneficial.
• Experience working within structured IT service environments is required.
• Desirable certifications include CCNP or CCIE, JNCIP, and ITIL certification or framework exposure.

Responsibilities

• We are responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing management of complex network and infrastructure solutions across the business.
• We design and maintain enterprise-level network architecture including LAN, WAN, WLAN and VPN.
• We ensure high availability, performance and scalability across network services.
• We troubleshoot and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues.
• We manage and configure network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.
• We lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations and improvement projects.
• We implement secure remote access solutions using VPN, IPsec, SSL/TLS and SSH.
• We manage network security controls including firewall policies, IDS/IPS, encryption and PKI.
• We monitor network performance, capacity and security, identifying opportunities for optimisation.
• We support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• We manage patching, system updates and configuration backups.
• We produce and maintain technical documentation.
• We provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
• We support incident response and participate in on-call support where required.
