SC/DV Technical Architect

Salary: £42,000 - 72,500 per year

Requirements

• Strong technical architecture background in defence, government or highly regulated environments
• Experience delivering solutions across hybrid and classified settings
• Solid knowledge of VMware, Kubernetes, containerisation and virtualisation
• Solid knowledge of secure network design, IAM, encryption, monitoring and segmentation
• Experience with API design, SOA, event-driven architecture and data integration/messaging
• Experience with tooling such as Sparx EA, Visio, Jira/Confluence, Git and DevOps/IaC
• SC clearance mandatory
• DV eligibility desirable

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain architecture artefacts, standards, patterns, and HLD/LLD
• Design secure, resilient and interoperable solutions across hybrid/private cloud, edge/tactical computing and secure networks
• Design solutions across data platforms, Data Fabric, data integration, and messaging/event-driven architectures
• Support integration of legacy and modern technologies, including interoperability across MOD, allied and industry systems
• Provide technical assurance via design authorities and architecture review boards
• Support cyber assurance and risk activity aligned to MOD DefStan 05-138, NCSC CAF, ISO 27001, and Zero Trust / Secure by Design

We are seeking an SC-cleared Technical Architect (Data) to support a complex MOD Defence R&D and engineering environment, focused on secure capability development, systems integration and digital transformation. This is an outside IR35 contract for 6 months, offering a rate of £550–£700/day. The role is remote with occasional travel to secure sites. There is a strong emphasis on data platforms, Data Fabric and data-centred security within hybrid and classified environments.
