Requirements
- We require active SC clearance, and eligible candidates will be considered.
- We are seeking someone with proven, extensive hands-on experience designing, deploying and operating the Dynatrace Observability platform across enterprise environments.
- We typically expect 5+ years in observability, monitoring or APM disciplines, including at least 3 years of deep, hands-on Dynatrace delivery.
- We need strong experience producing observability architecture and design documentation and leading technical implementation within structured, phased programmes.
- We require working knowledge of the Dynatrace API and Workflows for automation, integration and data extraction.
- We need awareness of data-protection considerations in observability tooling, including handling of PII in telemetry and use of data-masking or pipeline controls.
- We are looking for familiarity with the wider observability ecosystem, including AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- We need experience with containers and orchestration, including Kubernetes, OpenShift and Docker.
- We require knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments.
- We expect familiarity with OpenTelemetry, APM, infrastructure monitoring, log monitoring, RUM and synthetic monitoring.
- We need strong ServiceNow knowledge for incident and problem management.
- We value experience with CI/CD and automation tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible or Terraform.
- We require scripting skills for automation and data extraction, such as Python, Bash and/or PowerShell.
- We need core networking knowledge, including firewalls, ports, proxies, DNS and TLS.
- We are looking for strong knowledge of Agentic AI technologies and autonomous operations principles.
- We require at least one Dynatrace certification appropriate to the level of the role; professional-level certification is strongly preferred.
- We need demonstrated ability to lead technical workstreams and take day-to-day ownership of delivery within a structured, phased programme.
- We require strong workshop and kickoff facilitation skills, with the ability to engage directly with customer stakeholders to gather requirements and validate configuration.
- We need clear, confident written and verbal communication for customer status reporting and technical documentation.
- We expect you to be comfortable coordinating with third-party suppliers and working within formal change-control processes.
- We require someone who is organised and self-sufficient, able to manage concurrent workstreams across multiple client engagements.
Responsibilities
- We lead observability solution design and architecture, producing High Level Design, Low Level Design and Technical Design documentation, including network zone, environment group and host group design.
- We own end-to-end deployment of the Dynatrace platform, including OneAgent, Environment ActiveGate and OpenTelemetry collector/agent deployment and configuration.
- We design and configure dashboards, alerting profiles and segments, problem notifications and workflows, tagging, process monitoring, synthetic monitors and SLOs.
- We implement Dynatrace log management and custom event modelling, including log buckets and retention, log events, custom metrics and metric events, and business events derived from logs.
- We build automation and integrations using the Dynatrace API and Dynatrace Workflows, including integration with ITSM tooling such as ServiceNow for incident and problem management.
- We act as the technical lead on client engagements, running kickoffs and requirement-gathering workshops, managing the technical relationship with customer stakeholders, and providing regular status reporting.
- We support the ongoing operation, health and tuning of deployed environments, and contribute to managed or retained observability support services.
- We mentor and provide technical guidance to junior consultants, and deliver training and enablement sessions to customer teams.

We are expanding our Dynatrace Observability Practice and are seeking a senior, client-facing Observability Consultant to lead the design, deployment, operation and optimisation of the Dynatrace platform for a UK client. This is a 6-month remote contract offering market rates outside IR35. We need a hands-on technical leader who can own observability solutions end to end while mentoring junior consultants and acting as the technical point of contact for customer stakeholders.
