Requirements

• Degree qualified with 5+ years of experience in embedded software, vehicle systems, robotics, or connected devices
• Strong experience with embedded firmware development
• Experience designing complex hardware-integrated software systems
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering programs
• Strong experience with embedded C/C++
• Strong experience with real-time embedded systems or RTOS
• Strong experience with CAN or vehicle network architectures
• Strong experience with firmware-hardware integration
• Strong experience with cloud-connected device platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of our software platform across internal teams and external development partners
• Manage our software development roadmap
• Align software milestones with vehicle development programs
• Coordinate firmware, cloud, and application development
• Manage technical dependencies between teams
• Support system integration and release planning
• Define and own our end-to-end software architecture across vehicle firmware, connectivity, and cloud integration
• Design key elements of our vehicle firmware stack
• Establish software interfaces between vehicle systems, cloud services, and applications
• Review and contribute to embedded and systems-level code
• Lead architectural decisions for scalability, reliability, and security
• Guide development of critical firmware components
• Lead development of our vehicle embedded software stack, including VCM firmware, BMS firmware, power management, diagnostics, telemetry, sensor and actuator integration, and vehicle networking such as CAN
• Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure tight hardware-software co-design
• Define and implement our vehicle connectivity architecture, including secure vehicle-to-cloud communication, telemetry and diagnostics pipelines, remote vehicle monitoring and control, fleet and asset management integration, OTA software updates, and charging ecosystem integration
• Establish engineering standards across our platform, including coding standards, development workflows, CI and testing pipelines, simulation and validation environments, and software quality and release processes
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and partners
• Work closely with external engineering partners responsible for parts of our software stack
• Define technical interfaces and integration requirements
• Review partner architecture and code deliverables
• Ensure adherence to our engineering standards and security practices
• Integrate externally developed modules into our platform
• Support joint debugging and system integration
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted software development tools across our engineering ecosystem
• Use AI-assisted code generation, automated test creation, static analysis and validation, simulation-driven verification, and AI-assisted debugging and optimisation
