Role: Java / Automation Engineer Location: Remote Primary Skillset JavaReact SeleniumPlaywrightAzure DevOpsAPIKey Responsibilities Java / Automation Engineer (Modernization & Automation Pivot) Overview We are seeking a mid-to-senior level Java Engineer to support the modernization of an existing CPQ application and transition into a long-term automation engineering role.

This is a unique opportunity to join a project where: A proof of concept has already been completedThe architecture and API integrations are fully documentedA working prototype exists, validating the modernization pathThe initial focus will be to help bring the Java-based solution into production, followed by a pivot into automation engineering leveraging modern testing frameworks.

Phase 1 – Application Modernization Support the transition of a legacy CPQ application from C# to Java/ReactWork within an API-driven architecture, integrating and orchestrating existing servicesLeverage detailed documentation outlining: API mappingsSystem interactionsIntegration pointsAssist in stabilizing and operationalizing the modernized applicationPhase 2 – Automation Engineering (Primary Long-Term Focus) Transition into a Java-based Automation Engineer roleDesign and build automated test frameworks using: SeleniumPlaywrightDevelop and execute automated test suites for application functionalityIntegrate automation into CI/CD pipelinesCollaborate on Azure DevOps (ADO) workflows and release processesRequired Qualifications Strong experience with JavaExperience working with: APIs and system integrationsService-based or API-heavy environmentsUnderstanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and deployment workflowsExposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesPreferred Qualifications Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, etc.)Background in manual testing with progression toward automationFamiliarity with: Azure DevOps (ADO)Automated testing integration within CI/CD pipelinesExperience working in modernization or migration projectsWhat We’re Looking For Mid-level to Senior individual contributor (not a leadership role)Hands-on, execution-focused mindsetAbility to work with pre-defined architecture and documentationSomeone currently transitioning or leaning into automation engineeringStrong communicator who can operate across development and QA functions
