Requirements
- We require recent experience working in central government.
- We require experience acting as an internal cyber advisor aligned with organisational strategy and objectives.
- We require experience leading or coordinating the resolution of complex or high-profile cyber issues.
- We require strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
- We require experience developing, refreshing, and embedding cyber policies, standards, and procedures.
- We require experience tracking adoption and compliance against cyber policies and standards.
- We require experience providing portfolio oversight and RAG reporting.
- We require the ability to escalate issues and drive remediation of strategic misalignment.
- We require knowledge of cyber security, information assurance, assurance activities, and incident readiness.
- We require understanding of statutory and regulatory obligations, including GDPR and relevant non-ONR requirements.
- We require the ability to support senior-level briefings and horizon scanning.
- We require candidates who can work outside IR35.
- We require the ability to work on a hybrid basis in Warrington for 2 days per week and remotely for 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- We will support the Deputy CISO and the Cyber Security & Information Assurance function in accelerating strategic cyber transformation.
- We will develop and implement cyber policies, standards, and procedures.
- We will uplift security culture and awareness across the organisation.
- We will establish cyber profession standards.
- We will oversee portfolio alignment to strategy and organisational objectives.
- We will deliver horizon scanning and leadership briefings.
- We will support assurance activities.
- We will contribute to senior-level incident readiness.
- We will act as an internal cyber advisor aligned with our strategy and objectives.
- We will lead and coordinate the resolution of complex or high-profile cyber issues.
- We will facilitate stakeholder engagement across relevant teams and functions.
- We will track policy and standards adoption and compliance.
- We will provide portfolio oversight and RAG reporting.
- We will escalate and drive remediation where initiatives are misaligned with strategy or requirements.

We are recruiting for a Cyber Transformation Lead to support our Cyber Security & Information Assurance function and our Deputy CISO. This is a hybrid role based in Warrington, working 2 days a week onsite and 3 days remotely. The position is outside IR35 and requires recent central government experience. The role sits at the heart of our strategic cyber transformation agenda, with responsibility for strengthening our cyber posture, embedding policies and standards, improving security culture and awareness, and supporting assurance and incident readiness in line with our strategic objectives and statutory obligations.
