SharePoint Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong experience with SharePoint Server Subscription Edition (SE) or SharePoint 2019/2016
• Proven background in SharePoint infrastructure support (L2/L3)
• Solid knowledge of SharePoint farm architecture
• Solid knowledge of service applications and content databases
• Experience with on-premises environments
• Integration experience with Active Directory and SQL Server
• Power Platform experience is desirable
• Experience managing multi-environment setups (Dev/QA/Prod)
• Familiarity with deployments and migrations
• Experience supporting post-migration environments
• Knowledge of automation and workflow tools
• Scripting experience, such as PowerShell for SharePoint administration
• Experience in professional services or legal industry environments

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 support across SharePoint farms
• Troubleshoot incidents, resolve defects, and manage service requests
• Ensure high availability and performance of the platform
• Deliver minor enhancements and configuration changes
• Update and improve sites
• Modify workflows
• Make UI/UX tweaks
• Support automation enhancements
• Manage and maintain SharePoint servers and farms
• Manage and maintain service applications
• Manage and maintain content databases

• Manage deployments, migrations, and validation activities
• Ensure smooth promotion of releases across environments
• Support integrations with Power Platform, enterprise systems, and workflows
• Assist in automation initiatives to improve efficiency
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
• Provide regular status updates and reporting
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams, security teams, and business stakeholders

We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Infrastructure Engineer to provide operational and technical support following a migration from SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Server Subscription Edition on-premises. This is a 3-month remote contract inside IR35 with a rate of up to £600 per day. We need someone who can ensure platform stability, performance, and availability while supporting ongoing enhancements aligned with business needs.
