ABOUT THE ROLE Hexo Systems is hiring a hands-on AI Automation Engineer to design, build, and deploy real-world AI systems for US-based clients.

This is a full-time remote role for experienced engineers who can own delivery end-to-end, work directly with clients, and lead execution across multiple projects.

You will be building production-grade systems at the intersection of AI, automation, and integrations — not prototypes or experiments. IMPORTANT: This role requires a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience and is not open to current undergraduate students.

WHAT YOU'LL DO AI Engineering Build LLM-powered workflows using OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and open-source models Design prompt systems for structured, reliable outputs Develop RAG pipelines connected to internal knowledge bases and documentation Improve output reliability through validation layers and feedback loops Stay current with AI model updates and integrate improvements into production systems Automation & Workflow Engineering Identify and automate manual business processes across operations Build end-to-end automation systems across multiple platforms Use tools such as Playwright, Puppeteer, n8n, Make, Zapier, or Power Automate Develop internal tools and lightweight systems that improve efficiency Maintain and optimize existing automation infrastructure Systems Integration Connect APIs, SaaS platforms, and internal tools into unified workflows Build reliable integration pipelines with proper error handling and monitoring Ensure systems are modular, scalable, and well documented Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly Client-Facing Delivery & Ownership Work directly with US-based clients to understand requirements and define solutions Translate business needs into technical systems and execution plans Lead small execution teams across active projects Manage delivery quality, timelines, and output consistency Communicate progress and technical decisions clearly TECH STACK AI & LLMs: OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, open-source LLMs Automation & Agents: LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, n8n, Make, Zapier, Power Automate Engineering: Python (primary), JavaScript (basic), REST APIs, Git, Postman, JSON/YAML RAG & Knowledge Systems: Vector databases (Pinecone, Chroma, Weaviate), embeddings, document parsing WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Must-Have 3+ years of experience in software engineering, automation, or AI systems Strong Python skills for automation and backend systems Experience building API-based integrations and workflows Hands-on experience with automation tools (n8n, Make, Zapier, or Power Automate) Solid understanding of LLMs, prompting, and AI workflow design Ability to build and ship production-ready systems Track record of reducing manual workload through automation and maintaining high system reliability Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal Nice to Have Experience with agent frameworks (LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI) Exposure to RAG systems and vector databases Browser automation experience (Playwright or Puppeteer) Client-facing or consulting experience Understanding of AI evaluation and system reliability MINDSET Builder first — ships working systems, not just ideas Strong ownership of outcomes from start to finish Comfortable working directly with clients and leading projects independently Detail-oriented with focus on reliability and execution quality Adaptable in a fast-moving AI landscape Moves fast from prototype to production WORK MODEL Fully remote Full-time role Structured onboarding phase for alignment and ramp-up COMPENSATION Commission-based Performance-driven upside based on scope and delivery impact
