Job Description

Sr. Systems Engineer – Observability Location: Bethesda, MD (Remote) Contract Duration: 7+ months Job Summary: Seeking for an Observability Sr. Systems Engineer to enhance and optimize our observability platform.

Work with architects and cross-functional teams to develop and support logging, monitoring, and automation solutions for our infrastructure and applications. Core Work Activities: Build and maintain solutions in Dynatrace and GitHub.

Design and implement scalable observability solutions for Kubernetes and other data sources. Collaborate with teams to deploy logging and monitoring solutions. Manage deployment of logging and monitoring tools using AWS, Azure, and Alibaba Cloud technologies.

Optimize observability platform and explore automation technologies. Onboard data sources into observability tools like Dynatrace and Cribl. Provide technical leadership and direction for solution delivery. Analyze current environment for deficiencies and provide solutions.

Education and Experience Required: Undergraduate degree in engineering or computer science or equivalent experience/certification. 7 years' experience in information technology with technical/engineering roles. 5 years' experience with JavaScript or Typescript. 5 years' experience developing applications in AWS. 3 years' experience with observability tools like Dynatrace and Splunk Cloud.

Experience with Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) or Splunk Processing Language (SPL). Additional Preferred Experiences: Certifications in Dynatrace, Splunk, Cribl, or HashiCorp. Strong scripting experience in PowerShell or Python.

Experience in building scalable pipelines for metrics, logs, and traces. Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences. Proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
