Job Description
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mirantis provides enterprises with infrastructure for virtual machines, containers, orchestration, and AI across public cloud, private cloud, and edge environments.
The Systems Architect aligns enterprise customers’ technology landscapes with business objectives by assessing current-state environments, designing target-state architectures and roadmaps, and advising executives and technical teams.
The role involves synthesizing cloud, container, infrastructure, platform, and AI technologies into secure, stable, and future-proof solutions.
Responsibilities Work with Mirantis customers, Mirantis colleagues, stakeholders, partners, vendors and other resources on improving the customer’s experienceAssess and understand the customer’s business strategy, drivers, and constraintsCollaborate with the customer to address shortcomings of the current stateEmploy Mirantis products and experience to transform the existing landscape into a coherent, stable, secure, and future proof platformFor recommendations made provide defensible reasoning to help the customer understand why the recommendations have been madeBecome a trusted advisor of the customerWork with Mirantis product to further development and eliminate shortcomingsPresent architectures, roadmaps, and rationale to audiences ranging from customer executives to hands-on engineersEngage on-site with customers across regions as part of the discovery, design, and advisory process Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related fieldExtensive architecture and engineering experience across infrastructure or platform engineering, including customer-facing architecture or advisory experienceA demonstrated ability to think about the enterprise as a whole — connecting technology decisions to business goals — rather than working only at the level of individual systemsPrivate cloud platforms including OpenStackKubernetes-based container platformsMulti-cluster management concepts and toolingWorkload requirementsVMware estate modernization — enough understanding of vSphere/VMware environments to advise enterprises on virtualization strategy and migration paths as they modernize toward open platformsBare-metal provisioning and physical infrastructure lifecycle, including data center conceptsThe components of a cloud or container platform and how they fit togetherAt least one area of subject matter expertise (e.g. networking)Strong solution orientation: “Find a way”Experience with at least one programming language (e.g.
