Lead Test Automation Engineer - Remote

Salary: £75,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior/Lead Automation Engineer
• Strong automation skills in tools like Playwright, Cypress, and Typescript
• Familiarity with C# is ideal
• Experience in testing complex platforms, particularly in regulated or high-risk environments such as finance or compliance
• Ability to design and maintain automated test frameworks for modern web applications
• Comfort with building frameworks and testing REST APIs
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as Azure
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and best practices in QA processes
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience mentoring junior team members

Responsibilities

• Lead the QA strategy and improve processes within the team
• Collaborate closely with DevOps on CI/CD and QA practices
• Shape quality assurance from the start by challenging requirements and spotting risks
• Ensure that all releases are robust, secure, and built to last
• Work directly with enterprise clients to define sensible test strategies
• Review code and guide teams on quality best practices
• Conduct automated testing across Angular front ends and .NET back ends
• Actively review internal team code and external client-side code for security and performance
• Focus on building strong automation and conduct API testing
