Job Description
Overview The primary project of Heliax is the Anoma protocol (implemented in Rust). Anoma is a sovereign, proof-of-stake blockchain protocol that enables private, asset-agnostic cash and private bartering among any number of parties.
In addition to Anoma, Heliax works on open-source projects which are part of the Anoma ecosystem, including but not limited to research in cryptographic libraries such as the MASP or Ferveo (written in Rust), and tools for high assurance validity predicates and arbitrary zero-knowledge circuits (Juvix, written in Haskell).
Heliax is a remote-first team, currently composed of cross-disciplinary members located around the world. All of our work is open-source.
Our work culture is characterized by open-allocation, where team members have a high degree of freedom and autonomy in choosing when to work, what to work on, and whom to work with.
ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for an engineer interested in distributed ledger technology to support the public Anoma testnets and help community members by writing guides and tutorials.
As a blockchain infrastructure engineer, you will work with us in evaluating, deploying, monitoring, maintaining, and upgrading the Anoma testnets. Furthermore you will be responsible for ensuring that external users can easily deploy our software.
Build deployment pipelines for the Anoma testnetsBuild, improve, maintain, and upgrade our validator software and hardware infrastructureMonitor and maintain testnets (and eventually the mainnet) for any performance issues or bottlenecks, unusual behavior and unexpected outages.Monitor network traffic and configure physical & virtual minimal-permission access control for fault isolationAutomate and scale infrastructure configuration as networks grow.
QualificationsExperience with administrating Linux systems and with configuration management (Ansible, Terraform, Docker)Experience with cloud platform services and tooling (GCP, AWS)Experience with metrics collection and monitoringWorking understanding of TCP/IP network stackOnline availability for unforeseen remotely-fixable issuesSelf-motivated & self-organizedStrong communication skills.Bonus QualificationsProgramming experience in Rust or other low level and systems programming languagesPrior experience and interest in blockchain technologyExperience in building and scaling distributed, highly available systemsExperience in deploying and scaling high-performance database softwareInterest in and experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs)Experience in supporting a wide range of external usersMiscRemote, preferred located in Central Europe (e.g.
