Backend Engineer (Ruby on Rails) Contract Location: Fully Remote (United States) Compensation: $45$55/hour (1099 or Corp-to-Corp) Duration: 12-month contract Hours: 40 hours/week About the Role A growing technology company is seeking a Backend Engineer with strong Ruby on Rails experience to help build a scalable chat and messaging system used within a workforce management platform.

The engineering team is replacing an existing open-source chat solution with a custom-built highly scalable messaging platform and this role will play a key part in designing and implementing the backend infrastructure.

This is a hands-on backend engineering role focused on building robust APIs improving system scalability and supporting real-time communication systems.
