Remote Data Engineer

Salary: £39,000 - 79,000 per year

Requirements

• We have proven experience of 5 years or more in a data engineering or similar role.
• We are strongly proficient in SQL and database technologies such as MS SQL and Snowflake.
• We have hands-on experience with ETL and ELT tools such as Azure Data Factory, DBT, AWS Glue or similar.
• We are strongly proficient in Power BI and advanced analytics.
• We have good proficiency in Python for data processing, scripting and automation.
• Experience with DBT, Airbyte or similar transformation and replication products is advantageous.
• We have experience with data migration and mapping complex relational data between business systems.
• We have strong analytical skills and can translate business requirements into data engineering solutions.
• We have excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
• We have effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• We hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• We are authorised to work in the UK and do not require sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• We design and develop a modern data warehouse on Azure or Snowflake that can ingest data from multiple sources and store and organise large volumes of data.
• We develop and implement an automated, repeatable data migration process suitable for multiple project phases.
• We review data quality assessments, address inconsistencies, and apply data cleansing and validation techniques.
• We build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data from disparate sources.
• We stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering.

We are offering a remote working or hybrid Data Engineer position based in West London, near Feltham, Hanworth and Hounslow, with an opportunity to work on site once or twice a week, or remotely with onsite attendance once a month. You will join a small team and play a key role in developing and managing data integration projects as we transition data from legacy systems into modern infrastructure for reporting and analytics. The salary is likely to be in the region of £60,000 to £70,000 depending on experience.
