[Remote] Engineering Director, Global Capital and Process Standards

The Engineering Director for Capital and Process Standards will establish and deploy industry-leading practices across manufacturing facilities, focusing on operational excellence and capital project execution.

Responsibilities Technical Standards: including managing global subject matter experts with responsibility for creating and deploying process documentation for all can-making technology, direct materials (coatings), utility, power, civil construction and wastewater systemsEstablish standards for design, installation, startup and utilization of can lines.

Responsible for coordinating standard plant design with project values ranging from $200 Million (M) to $400MSet standards for capital budgeting and control.

Lead the governance and processes to ensure accurate cost estimation and budgetary controlCoordinate the preparation of annual capital budget for general operations globally (>$150M).

Track and report on this project portfolio throughout the yearCollaborate and work closely with Capital Procurement and key suppliers of major capital equipment and services to review standard equipment specifications and enforce OEM change controlOversee the system for trials and workflows that assess operational readiness of process innovations; this requires close coordination with suppliers, operations and Ball Operational Excellence organizationResponsible for creation of global specifications, technical standards and change management strategy for direct materials such as inside lacquers, inks and varnishes, executing the strategy from supply through applicationTechnical licensee support: Manage communications, information flows and the financial reconciliation.

Direct the provision of engineering and technical support to the regional and joint venture engineering teamsCollaborate with Operational Excellence teams to evaluate good and best practices with responsibility of adopting and deploying as global standards Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related fieldMinimum of 10 years of experience in engineering leadership, particularly in establishing best practices for industrial processesMinimum of 7 years of experience managing technology in a global manufacturing environmentMinimum of 7 years of experience generating business cases/ROI, performing technology selection and vendor managementWorking knowledge of: Purchasing, legal contracts, licenses, accounting, economics, depreciation, capitalization, accruals, ISO, auditing (internal and external), insurance, and contract negotiationsMasters degree (such as MBA)7 or more years in operations of beverage can manufacturing Benefits This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.Please visit our ["Total Rewards"](https://www.ball.com/careers/total-rewards) page to learn more about Ball’s comprehensive benefits structure.This position is eligible to be REMOTE in the U.S., with a home base within a 50-mile radius of a major airport, due to travel requirements, but the preference would be for the successful candidate to be located in Westminster, CO.If based in Colorado, the on-site scheudle would our follow the Hybrid On-Site Work Environment, which requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for four (4) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).Travel (up to 30%) and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations will be required.Relocation (within the U.S.) may be available.
