Platform Engineer

Salary: £70,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements

• Active SC Security Clearance used in the last 12 months
• Experience as a Senior Platform Engineer with a solid understanding of software engineering principles
• Good understanding of AWS cloud services and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform
• Proficient in scripting and pipeline automation tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions
• Hands-on CloudFormation scripting, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
• Experience collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to understand requirements and implement solutions
• Knowledge of automation to improve development processes and optimize software delivery
• Familiarity with Chef, Python scripting, and troubleshooting
• Experience with Jenkins pipelines, deployments, and Groovy scripting
• Proficient in Linux commands and troubleshooting web services
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, NLB, API Gateway, ASG, etc.
• Strong preference for Government, GDS domain experience

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with engineers and product teams, including Designers, Product Managers, and Analysts
• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation or Terraform
• Troubleshoot and debug CloudFormation scripts
• Automate development processes to enhance software delivery efficiency
• Work on AWS cloud services and manage containerization technologies
• Manage Jenkins pipelines for deployments and ensure efficient automation
• Utilize scripting to optimize infrastructure and deployment workflows
• Understand and implement solutions based on team requirements
• Participate in hybrid work environment, splitting time between remote and on-site work in Leeds
