Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and technical teams at all levels.

- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS (10 and 11) and Microsoft 365 Office Suite.
- Understanding of IT hardware, including desktops, laptops, mobile technologies, printers, peripherals, and network fundamentals.
- A can-do attitude with a flexible, team-oriented approach to responsibilities.
- A good understanding of the additional risks associated with working within a manufacturing environment.
- Interest in automation scripting technologies would be advantageous.
- Strong documentation capability with an eye for detail.
- Relevant experience in the manufacturing sector would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for customers, delivering high levels of customer service and engagement.
- Pre-empt, investigate, and resolve incidents.
- Undertake regular floor walking as a proactive support measure.
- Maintain a stock of spare equipment for rapid deployment and timely issue resolution.
- Liaise continuously with customers to ensure smooth communication and efficient service while resolving on-site queries.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to determine whether issues are IT-related or plant-related.
- Provide advice and guidance on user best practices.
- Identify and mitigate repeatable cases and create knowledge-based articles.
- Resolve incidents and service requests to SLA using tools such as ServiceNow, InTune, and SCCM.
- Engage with Capgemini MIM for the management and resolution of major incidents.
- Support modern workplace management, with Autopilot experience being advantageous.
- Manage IT hardware accurately using a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Active Directory (AD).
- Represent Capgemini at daily and weekly meetings with Production and Maintenance staff.
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota for the Crewe site and provide escort services for external engineers.

We are offering a 3-month initial contract for a Shopfloor IT Support role based fully on-site in Crewe, Cheshire. You will work at our client site five days a week, Monday to Friday between 06:00 and 21:00, with no hybrid or remote working options. The rate is £313 per day inside IR35 via umbrella. This role sits within a manufacturing environment, where we provide full training and ongoing support, and it includes participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
