Salary: £131,250 - 131,250 per year

Requirements

• We require circa 10 years of experience in hybrid Business Analysis and Solution Design roles.
• We require strong hands-on Drupal expertise, including content modelling and site building.
• We require a clear understanding of what Drupal can and cannot deliver without custom development.
• We require demonstrable experience producing High-Level Technical Designs.
• We require familiarity with modern Drupal concepts such as Recipes, Install Profiles, Distributions, SDC, and Storybook.
• We require confidence facilitating workshops and challenging stakeholders to align on shared solutions.
• We require the ability to operate effectively in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
• We prefer Drupal certification, such as Acquia or equivalent, or evidence of community contributions.
• We prefer previous experience supporting a Solutions Architect within a platform or multi-site model.
• We prefer familiarity with Figma, design tokens, or design-system processes.
• We prefer working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.
• We prefer experience with Jira, Confluence, or requirements traceability tooling.

Responsibilities

• We lead and support requirements discovery workshops with business and product stakeholders.
• We consolidate, de-duplicate, and harmonise requirements across multiple product groups.
• We work alongside the Drupal Solutions Architect to define high-level solution options.
• We translate agreed approaches into High-Level Technical Designs covering content models, component and pattern choices, reuse versus bespoke decisions, and integration considerations where relevant.
• We assess requirements against reusable Drupal assets and patterns, identifying where common solutions apply.
• We maintain clear traceability between business goals, requirements, and architectural outcomes.
• We write user stories and acceptance criteria to support backlog refinement.
• We contribute to knowledge transfer across the programme during discovery.

We are supporting a large-scale public website transformation within a higher education organisation. Our programme is migrating multiple public-facing websites from a legacy CMS to Drupal and requires senior architectural input during the discovery phase to shape a reusable Drupal blueprint for multiple product groups. We are working under the Head of Web alongside an existing Solutions Architect and internal Business Analyst, with the focus on requirements, solution design, and reuse strategy rather than build or delivery. This contract is outside IR35, is initially until the end of July, and is centered on creating a clear, consistent foundation for future vendor procurement and delivery.
