Salary: £49,000 - 89,000 per year

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in building microservices using Java and Spring Boot
• Solid understanding of clean code principles and architecture concepts such as SOLID and Onion
• Demonstrated expertise in crafting large-scale, well-optimised, and maintainable software features, ensuring robust and efficient solutions
• Good grasp of at least one layered backend application architecture, including three-tier, hexagonal, or onion
• Proficiency in test-driven development and familiarity with the testing pyramid
• Comprehensive understanding of Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and other release strategies
• Proven ability to analyse, debug, and resolve highly complex issues, showcasing your critical thinking and technical prowess
• Excellent communication skills, with strong proficiency in both spoken and written English

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to develop clean, maintainable features and resolve end-to-end issues, using various approaches to deliver outstanding outcomes to our customers efficiently and effectively
• Contribute to the management of technical debt, ensuring our systems remain secure, resilient, and reliable
• Enhance and refine testing methodologies within the team to ensure the highest quality customer experience, with a strong focus on security, usability, and accessibility
• Participate in code reviews, emphasizing both functional and non-functional requirements such as performance, resiliency, maintainability, and security, to consistently produce high-quality, safe software for our customers
• Engage in continuous improvement efforts related to security, quality, deployment, monitoring, and operations, enabling the seamless release and operation of safe, performant, and resilient systems in production
• Actively participate in developer team meetings to keep colleagues informed and foster a culture of knowledge sharing
• Communicate effectively and collaborate continuously with team members to ensure smooth delivery of development activities within the sprint timebox
• Pursue ongoing skill development through relevant training in your role discipline
