Automation Test Engineer

Salary: £48,000 - 72,000 per year

Requirements

• Actively SC Cleared
• Ability to configure, extend, and maintain the Triangle Automation framework, project structure, and execution patterns
• Experience building automated regression and UAT test suites (including dynamic test generation and cross-environment comparisons)
• Hands-on experience integrating automated suites into CI/CD pipelines (using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions)
• Ability to deliver meaningful MI/reporting, defect documentation (defect, risk/issue, approaches, patterns, and design decisions), write test execution evidence, traceable audit outputs, and risk/issue documentation
• Proficiency in managing and defining test data and baselines
• Experience diagnosing and resolving automation failures, and distinguishing between test defects, data issues, and underlying platform defects
• Contributing to Agile ceremonies and activities (includes planning, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives)
• Hands-on experience with Triangle or similar Openlink specific test automation tools
• Expertise in Openlink/Findur – trade lifecycle, EoD tasks, custom logic (UDSRs, reports, and user tables)
• Proven track record of designing and using mocks, stubs, or simulators to replicate external systems and services (e.g., Bloomberg, MarkitWire)
• Strong understanding of multi-system message flows and ability to automate integrations involving outbound/inbound messages (e.g., via XML, JSON)
• Strong SQL/reporting skills and familiarity with API driven automation
• Experience with BDD or structured scenarios writing practices
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis, and differentiate between test, data, environment, and platform issues

Responsibilities

• Play a key role within the testing function by working closely with business and product SMEs
• Translate critical functional business processes into automated test scenarios
• Ensure that test evidence is clear, traceable, and aligned with the requirements for formal test phase sign-off
• Manage the configuration and maintenance of the Triangle Automation framework
• Build automated regression and UAT test suites to ensure robust testing processes
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines
• Deliver MI/reporting and comprehensive defect documentation
• Document test execution evidence and traceable audit outputs
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as planning, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives
• Conduct root cause analysis on failures and distinguish between various issues
