Requirements

• We require deep, hands-on Power BI expertise.
• We require proven experience leading at least one significant reporting migration programme.
• We require strong technical leadership experience in enterprise-scale environments.
• We require the ability to clearly articulate technical risks, dependencies, and design decisions.
• We require experience working within Data & Analytics or Data Science & Reporting functions.
• We prefer retail sector experience, ideally within large supermarket or consumer-facing organisations.

Responsibilities

• We will lead the technical design and delivery of a Power BI reporting migration.
• We will provide deep Power BI expertise and define standards and best practices.
• We will identify and communicate technical risks, constraints, and migration watch-outs.
• We will act as the senior technical authority across reporting solutions.
• We will collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, and Engineering teams.
• We will engage with senior stakeholders to translate business needs into robust reporting solutions.
• We will take ownership of the technical delivery of a complex reporting migration programme.
• We will set technical standards and identify key risks, dependencies, and migration considerations across enterprise-scale reporting solutions.

We are recruiting an experienced Power BI Technical Lead to support a major reporting and analytics transformation programme within a leading organisation in the retail and supermarket sector. This is a contract role inside IR35, running until December 2026, with a day rate of £565 to £696 depending on market conditions. The role sits within our Data Science and Reporting / Data and Analytics function and is predominantly remote, with very occasional on-site attendance required for workshops. Clearance is not required.
