1st Line Support Engineer

Salary: £57,000 - 97,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for someone with some commercial experience in an IT support or service desk role.
• We require a basic understanding of Microsoft 365 and Windows environments.
• We ideally want experience working for an IT service provider or Managed Service Provider.
• We need strong communication skills and confidence speaking with people.
• We value a proactive mindset and a genuine willingness to learn and improve.
• You should be able to stay organised in a busy environment.
• We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in building a career in IT.

Responsibilities

• We will have you act as the first point of contact for IT support queries.
• You will log, prioritise, and manage incoming tickets.
• You will troubleshoot common issues across Microsoft environments.
• You will support users via phone, email, and remote tools.
• You will keep customers updated and informed throughout the support process.
• You will escalate more complex issues when needed.
• You will get involved in hardware setup and general IT support tasks.
• You will learn from senior engineers and build your skillset.

We are offering a full-time onsite role in Fareham, Hampshire with a salary of £25,000 to £28,000. This is a strong opportunity to build real IT skills in a supportive environment where you can ask questions, learn hands-on across Microsoft 365, Windows, and broader infrastructure, and develop a solid foundation for progression into 2nd line and beyond. We are looking for someone who wants to be the first point of contact for our customers, help them get back up and running, and grow their confidence and capability as part of our IT team.
