Remote Senior Software Engineer I

Salary: £71,000 - 94,000 per year

Requirements

• We prefer a BS/BA or relevant experience.
• We require at least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• We need strong proficiency in Python and asynchronous services, ideally using Tornado, Twisted, or asyncio.
• We need a strong understanding of GCP, AWS, or other cloud platforms.
• We need experience with containerization and Kubernetes.
• We need proficiency with RESTful APIs and microservice design.
• We need experience using Linux.
• We prefer experience working with engineers as customers.
• We need strong ownership, responsibility, and the ability to design creative solutions and communicate them effectively.
• We need strong written and verbal communication skills.
• We need the ability to write clean, concise, and maintainable code.
• We value proactive, ambitious candidates who learn quickly.
• We need strong organization, attention to detail, and documentation skills.
• Experience with NodeJS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• We design and develop novel solutions using a RESTful approach to APIs and asynchronous HTTP services.
• We maintain and evolve our portfolio of services that support internal and external customers.
• We critically analyse and optimise our services and frameworks to ensure performance at scale.
• We deliver code in a repeatable and scalable manner while maintaining a high standard of software quality.
• We design and drive the introduction of new features and services.
• We evolve and maintain our existing suite of applications.
