Remote Senior Software Engineer

Salary: £58,000 - 98,000 per year

Requirements

• At least 5 years of post-education experience in C# and .NET software development.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex data challenges and significantly improve data handling processes.
• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, provide project updates and technical insights on complex projects.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience mentoring intermediate engineers and leading complex technical projects.
• Expertise in scalable system design and architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a fully remote team and awareness of how your behavior impacts those around you.
• Commitment to continuous learning and growth.
• Must be based in the United Kingdom.
• Proficiency in handling large-scale datasets using appropriate languages, frameworks, tools, workflows, and patterns.
• Proven track record of designing, refining, managing, leading, and delivering at least three complex technical projects from inception to completion.
• A degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Data Engineering or a related field.
• Experience using React.
• Experience with AWS.
• Machine learning and AI experience.
• Startup or scaleup experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the full software development life cycle.
• Work with cloud-based architecture focusing on scalability and performance.
• Address data challenges by implementing robust data engineering practices.
• Conduct code quality reviews and collaborate with the team.
• Maintain a strong customer-first approach and focus on delivering value.
• Drive technical vision, development, and deployment of the SciLeads platform.
• Learn to manage a database of over one billion records and develop best practices for efficient data handling and aggregation.
• Build project management skills and take increasing ownership of technical initiatives.
• Collaborate across teams and gradually lead projects from planning through delivery.
