Senior Database Administrator@ PEOPLE10 (Remote)

About the position As part of a global enterprise tech team, you will manage enterprise scale databases through leading industry standards, automation and transformational roadmap for optimal resource utilization and scalability.

You will work in a full stack agile team of Architects, Technical Leads, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, Developers, QA automators, and DevOps experts. You will report to the team manager.

As a DBA, you will have an accelerated growth path into architecture and managerial career streams.

Responsibilities Design, install, and maintain enterprise databases in development, staging and production environmentImplement database security and maintain periodic upgradesExecute database activities such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.Diagnose and troubleshoot database issuesEnsure timely performance tuning and preventative maintenanceAs a contributing member of a globally distributed agile team, collaborate with other team members following scrum practicesCommunicate and coordinate effectively to all stakeholdersRequirements Expertise and experience in advance administration of MySQL and any other relational database administrationExperience in managing DB instances on AWSExpertise in database design, SQL programming, performance tuning, monitoring and SQL query optimizationExperience in a distributed environment and clusteringAbility to communicate and articulate clearly and work collaboratively in an agile teamNice-to-haves Working knowledge on GITExperience in Linux System AdministrationExperience in Agile methodologies and agile engineering practicesExperience in cloud migrationKnowledge on MariaDB is a plusBenefits Opportunities for skill development through diversified learning initiatives like code combat, meetups, knowledge booster sessionsEqual opportunity employerWelcome and encourage diversity in the workplace regardless of race, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or veteran status
