Net Back End Developer - Remote

Salary: £60,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong commercial C# and modern .NET 8+
• Blazor in production experience
• Microservices design and operation experience
• Azure experience, including App Service or Container Apps, Azure SQL, Service Bus, and Key Vault
• Terraform experience for infrastructure as code
• Azure DevOps Pipelines experience for CI/CD
• API gateway patterns and API security experience
• OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect knowledge with a security-conscious mindset
• Experience using Jira or Azure DevOps for delivery
• Practical experience integrating AI components into production services, including prompt design, model versioning, evaluation, and cost and latency trade-offs
• Fluency with Claude Code or a directly comparable AI-assisted development tool
• Must be free to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Build, review, and operate production backend code
• Work hands-on in a backend engineering role
• Contribute to the development of AI-powered products for the property and insurance markets
• Help insurers, loss adjusters, and contractors assess damage, generate estimates, and produce structured reports
• Take ownership of broader technical areas over time, with potential progression toward architecture leadership, mentoring, or a principal track

This is a hands-on backend engineering role with most of the week spent building, reviewing, and operating production code. The role offers a clear path to broader technical ownership over the next 12 to 18 months for the right person, though it is not a management position today.
