Requirements
- We require strong commercial experience coding in C.
- We require experience working on backend or integration-focused systems.

- We strongly prefer experience with Oracle Pro*C.
- We strongly prefer experience with PL/SQL.
- We strongly prefer experience with SQL.
- We strongly prefer experience modernising or integrating legacy systems.
- We are seeking candidates who are SC eligible.
- We are looking for candidates available for a 6-month rolling contract.
- We are looking for candidates who can work from Telford onsite a few days per month, with the remainder remote.
Responsibilities
- We analyse existing applications to understand functionality and database connectivity.
- We implement small, low-risk changes, including updating database connections, enhancing error handling, and improving system performance.
- We support the modernisation and enhancement of existing applications, including migration from legacy Ingres databases to modern platforms such as Oracle.
- We collaborate with senior engineers and database specialists on system and database improvements.
- We participate in testing activities, including unit, functional, and regression testing, and support defect resolution.
- We create and maintain documentation, including design notes and runbooks.
- We take part in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives.
- We work collaboratively across programme teams, including data, testing, and Model Office teams.
- We contribute to risk reduction and continuous improvement across the platform.
- We proactively develop our skills and contribute positively to team culture.

We offer a 6-month rolling contract at a rate of £530 per day inside IR35, with SC eligibility required. The role is based in Telford with a few days per month onsite and the remainder remote.
