ACI Engineer - South East London

Salary: £130,000 - 143,000 per year

Requirements

• We require at least 5 years of experience in network engineering or data center infrastructure.
• We require at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Cisco ACI design, deployment, and operations.
• We require a strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, VLAN, VXLAN, and BGP.
• We require deep knowledge of data center networking concepts and enterprise infrastructure environments.
• We require proficiency with Cisco ACI Management Information Tree (MIT) and policy model concepts.
• We require experience with ACI configuration and monitoring tools such as APIC and Cisco ACI simulator.
• We require familiarity with network automation and scripting, preferably using Python and REST APIs.
• We require knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and OpenStack.
• We require understanding of container technologies and orchestration platforms.
• We require excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently on complex problems.
• We prefer candidates with CCNA or higher certification.
• We prefer candidates with Cisco ACI Specialist certification.
• We prefer experience with SD-WAN solutions and cloud networking integration.
• We prefer hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
• We prefer knowledge of security frameworks and compliance requirements such as NIST and PCI-DSS.
• We prefer experience with IT service management tools and change management processes.
• We require strong technical skills in Cisco ACI, network switches and routing platforms, and scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• We require experience with monitoring and analytics platforms such as Tetration and Nexus Insights.
• We require familiarity with network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, traceroute, and packet analysis.

Responsibilities

• We design and deploy ACI fabric architectures aligned with business and technical requirements.
• We configure and manage ACI constructs including tenants, application profiles, EPGs, contracts, and policies.
• We implement network segmentation and security policies using ACI microsegmentation capabilities.
• We develop and maintain documentation for ACI topologies, policies, and configurations.
• We perform troubleshooting and health checks on ACI fabrics using diagnostic tools and CLI commands.
• We monitor ACI fabric performance and optimize configurations for availability and efficiency.
• We collaborate with storage, compute, and application teams to integrate ACI with broader infrastructure.
• We support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of Cisco ACI solutions.
• We work with cross-functional teams to build and optimize enterprise-grade data center networking environments.

We are seeking an experienced ACI Engineer for a 6-month contract starting as soon as possible. This is a UK remote role offered at a day rate of £500 inside IR35. We are looking for someone with deep technical expertise in Cisco ACI architecture, policy management, and network automation to help us deliver and optimize enterprise data center networking solutions.
