Senior IT Technician

Salary: £24,420 - 45,000 per year

Requirements

• Solid understanding of computer systems, networks (LAN/WAN), and operating systems (Windows)
• Microsoft 365 administrator level experience
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Understanding of databases and SQL code
• Strong diagnostic skills to identify and fix technical issues efficiently
• Excellent interpersonal skills to assist non-technical users
• Proven experience as a Senior IT Technician or relevant role
• Typically requires 2+ years of experience in IT support, often paired with a degree in computer science or related certifications
• Reliable and self-motivated individual
• Ability to manage time effectively, handle multiple requests, and work unsupervised
• Physical ability to install, lift, and move computer equipment

Responsibilities

• Setup, configure, and repair staff computers, laptops, and mobile devices
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing end-user support both on-site and remotely
• Manage IT inventory and cyber security
• Provide IT training to new and existing staff
• Assist in IT infrastructure troubleshooting, setup, configuration, and maintenance
• Diagnose and resolve hardware/software faults and network connectivity issues
• Install and configure application software from Microsoft, Autodesk, Adobe, and others
• Maintain operating systems and applications software at the latest update level
• Manage and troubleshoot user accounts, permissions, and passwords
• Perform regular backups and implement data security measures
• Create and maintain IT procedures
• Identify replacement equipment for end-of-life hardware
• Manage and renew software licenses
