Requirements

• Experience with C# and .NET / .NET Core is desired.
• Experience with SQL Server is desired.
• Backend and API development experience is desired.
• Experience with Entity Framework or a similar ORM is desired.
• Understanding of REST APIs and third-party integrations is desired.
• Experience with Git or similar source control is desired.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills are desired.
• Basic familiarity with HTML, CSS and JavaScript is desired.
• WPF and/or .NET MAUI experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Azure or cloud technology experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Desktop application development experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Ecommerce or payment integration experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
• CI/CD or DevOps exposure would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Experience with offline-first or synchronised applications would be beneficial but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• We develop and maintain internal applications and business systems.
• We build and support backend services, APIs and integrations.
• We work with SQL Server, stored procedures and data-driven applications.
• We support desktop applications built with WPF and .NET MAUI.
• We enhance existing applications and deliver new functionality.
• We integrate with third-party systems and external services.
• We collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• We troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for automation and improvement.

This is a full-time, permanent Backend Developer role offering a salary of £40,000–£45,000 plus excellent benefits, including 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, additional birthday leave, holiday increases with service up to 27 days plus birthday, optional private medical cover, and support for ongoing training and development. The role is fully remote with occasional visits to our Buckinghamshire office.
