Penetration Tester

Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements

• We require proven experience in penetration testing, with certified CHECK Team Member (CTM) status essential.
• We require CHECK Team Leader certification or equivalent relevant certifications such as OSCP or CREST.
• We require strong working knowledge of tools and platforms such as Kali Linux, Burp Suite, Metasploit and Nmap.
• We require the ability to read and write code in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
• We require good knowledge of multiple operating systems, including Windows and *NIX.
• We require the ability to configure network devices, firewalls, IDS/IPS devices and wireless technologies.
• We require a good understanding of security standards and regulatory compliance, including GDPR, ISO27001 and PCI DSS.
• We require excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex cyber threats into business terms.
• We require strong organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and comfort dealing with ambiguity to meet deadlines.
• We require the ability and willingness to work effectively within a team and share knowledge and skills.
• We require willingness to travel to client locations across the UK.
• We require eligibility for SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• We deliver high-quality penetration testing and consultancy services, along with a full range of security assessments including specialist areas and IT Health Checks.
• We undertake rigorous manual and automated testing to identify vulnerabilities across IT infrastructure, applications, networks, APIs, web, mobile and cloud environments.
• We simulate real-world attacks, including privilege escalation and social engineering, to assess client security posture.
• We produce accurate and concise technical reports, executive summaries, scopes and proposals.
• We engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders to explain findings, risks and remediation actions.
• We maintain confidentiality, align with our QA manual, meet client expectations and uphold our company standards.
• We stay up to date with emerging threats, technologies, vulnerabilities and methodologies.
• We contribute to service development, research and team initiatives that enhance capability.
• We share knowledge across the team and support collaborative working.
