Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £65,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong background in infrastructure engineering and systems administration
• Proven hands-on experience with Fortinet products, particularly FortiGate, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer
• Solid networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs and SD-WAN
• Good understanding of cyber security principles and best practice
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA or similar would be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Implement, manage and support Fortinet technologies including FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiClient VPN
• Manage firewall policies, VPNs, SD-WAN and network segmentation
• Monitor logs and security events, supporting ongoing improvements to network security architecture
• Deliver and maintain connectivity solutions across multiple sites, including FTTP, Starlink and 4G/5G
• Configure and support site networking equipment to ensure secure, reliable access to business systems
• Provide both remote and on-site support for connectivity and infrastructure issues
• Administer Windows Server environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and file services
• Support Hyper-V virtualised environments
• Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server environments
• Support Microsoft 365 technologies including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Endpoint and Entra ID
• Assist with the administration of Azure resources
• Apply cyber security best practice across systems and networks
• Support patching, vulnerability management and system hardening
• Assist with incident response, investigation and remediation
• Help maintain compliance with IT policies and external security standards
• Provide 1st to 3rd line technical support where required
• Contribute to infrastructure projects, continuous improvement initiatives and technical documentation
