Remote DevOps Engineer

Salary: £71,000 - 106,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and architecture
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Pulumi and ideally with C#
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, including Azure DevOps and at least one other such as Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, or Octopus Deploy
• Solid understanding of cloud security principles and DevSecOps practices
• Experience with vulnerability management tools and processes
• Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and implementation
• Experience migrating CI/CD platforms or modernising build systems
• Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration, such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools
• Understanding of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2
• Experience and understanding of the evolving use of AI in this area and how to apply it

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure
• Build and maintain disaster recovery and failover strategies to ensure business continuity
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi, with Terraform or similar also acceptable
• Ensure infrastructure is version-controlled, reusable, and aligned with best practices
• Maintain and enhance existing pipelines in Azure DevOps
• Design and implement modern CI/CD workflows to improve build, test, and deployment processes
• Evaluate and lead potential migration to more mature or scalable tooling platforms
• Integrate security practices into all stages of the development and deployment lifecycle
• Manage and optimise vulnerability scanning tools and processes
• Analyse and prioritise security findings, working with teams to remediate risks
• Act as the primary liaison for external penetration testing providers and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with security standards and organisational policies
