Requirements
- Expert in Magento 2 architecture & custom development, with deep knowledge of modules, DI, plugins, observers, service contracts, APIs (REST/GraphQL), multi-store setups, and performance tuning.
- Strong backend & frontend capabilities: PHP 7/8, MySQL, Composer, MVC, HTML/CSS, JS, Knockout.js, theme development, and experience with Hyv/PWA Studio.
- DevOps, deployment & scalability skills: Git, CI/CD, caching (Varnish/Redis), and security best practices.
- Leadership & integration expertise: able to design solutions, lead teams, review code, optimize performance, and integrate Magento with ERPs, CRMs, payment gateways, and enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of compliance standards and security best practices in cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Own solution architecture by designing scalable Magento 2/Adobe Commerce architectures (B2C/B2B), defining module boundaries, integration patterns, and data flows.
- Lead complex deliveries by breaking down epics, estimating, planning sprints, managing risk dependencies, and ensuring on-time, quality releases across multi-store and multi-region setups.
- Conduct hands-on development by implementing high-impact backend modules (DI, plugins, observers, service contracts, APIs) and guiding frontend (PWA/Knockout) as needed.
- Enhance performance & scalability by profiling and tuning PHP/MySQL, indexing, caching layers (Varnish/Redis), search (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch), and CDN strategies to meet SLAs.
- Ensure security & compliance by enforcing secure coding, patching cadence, PCI considerations, access controls, and data protection practices.
- Provide integration leadership by architecting and overseeing robust integrations with ERPs, CRMs, payment/shipping providers, search, and marketing platforms (via REST/GraphQL/webhooks/middleware).
- Champion DevOps & environments through CI/CD practices, branching strategies, code quality gates, and containerized environments (Docker).
- Set code quality & governance standards including coding standards (PSR, PHPCS, PHPStan), conducting deep code reviews, enforcing test coverage (PHPUnit/MFTF), and managing technical debt.
- Mentor & support team growth by coaching developers, running design reviews, engaging in pair programming, creating learning plans, and fostering a high ownership engineering culture.
- Engage in stakeholder management by translating business goals into technical roadmaps, aligning with product/UX/QA/DevOps, and clearly communicating risks, trade-offs, and timelines.
