Senior Technology Engineer

Salary: £117,000 - 122,200 per year

Requirements

• We require experience working with drones and associated inspection data.
• We require experience with One Big Circle tools and AiVR software.
• We require knowledge of remote condition monitoring solutions, including OLE monitoring.
• We require experience introducing or deploying new technologies and innovation projects.
• We require exposure to digital inspection, AI, or automation technologies.
• We require a strong technical and technology mindset, including software and systems understanding.
• We require the ability to work autonomously and engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
• We require an understanding of working in a regulated engineering environment.
• Rail industry experience in engineering or asset management is desirable.
• A degree in Engineering, Technology, Software, or Computer Science is desirable.
• Chartered Engineer status, or progress toward it, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• We lead the identification, development, and deployment of innovation initiatives aligned to strategic objectives.
• We act as technical authority for assigned innovation projects, setting direction and ensuring engineering integrity.
• We translate emerging technology into practical, deployable solutions for operations and maintenance.
• We lead innovation projects from concept through to deployment.
• We engage with maintenance teams, asset managers, and other stakeholders.
• We ensure engineering assurance, safety, and compliance for new technologies.
• We support business cases and benefits realisation.
• We drive automation of manual inspection and maintenance activities.
• We support delivery of efficiency and performance targets.
• We contribute to innovation-led transformation within asset management and maintenance.
• We monitor infrastructure behaviour using software and machine-learning-enabled tools.
• We support deployment of vision, camera, drone, and condition monitoring technologies.
• We take part in project and stakeholder meetings as needed.

We are offering a Senior Technology Engineer role based in Stratford, London, with a hybrid working pattern of a minimum of two days per week onsite. This is a 6-month contract inside IR35 with a daily rate of £450-£470 per day via umbrella. The role sits within our innovation framework, where we focus on safely progressing new technologies from development and trial into operational deployment.
