Remote Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition

Salary: £53,000 - 93,000 per year

Requirements

• We require a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• We require 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• We require proficiency with bash and Python scripting in Linux environments.
• We require proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts, with professional experience using at least one major cloud provider; we use GCP.
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.
• We require the ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• We require strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• We find new sources of audio data and bring it into our ingestion pipeline.
• We operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform.
• We collaborate closely with our Scientists to improve the cost, throughput, and quality of our data operations, delivering richer data at larger scale and lower cost to power our next-generation models.
• We collaborate with our AI Team and Speechify leadership to shape the AI Teams dataset roadmap for our next-generation consumer and enterprise products.
