• Honours degree level (SCQF level 10) qualification including relevant material such as cloud and web software development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and advance the farm-twin platform as part of the Digital Dairy Chain project.
• Design and deliver reliable, secure, and scalable software solutions for real-world dairy farm research.
• Work closely with data scientists to translate complex research challenges into technical solutions.
• Enhance the core codebase and integrate data connectors.
• Deploy and maintain the platform on our infrastructure.
• Contribute to our evolving open-source ecosystem supporting sustainable agriculture and decision-making on commercial farms.

We are SRUCs Dairy Research and Innovation Centre, based at our Barony campus near Dumfries, with new office and laboratory facilities in the Dairy Nexus development. Our team works on a wide range of activity to develop, implement, and promote sustainable breeding and management systems for dairy cows, and collaborates with a highly skilled group of data scientists across agritech and data-driven projects in the DDC region.
