Remote Azure Platform Engineer

Salary: £29,000 - 69,000 per year

Requirements

• 3+ years experience working as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
• 6+ years in infrastructure engineering or support roles, including Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code in a DevOps environment.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes (AKS) and Docker.
• Familiarity with Azure hub-and-spoke architecture, networking, identity and access management, and security best practices.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes, including release, deployment, and change management.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and lead when required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support scalable infrastructure solutions in Azure.
• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform in a DevOps environment.
• Drive adoption of Kubernetes (AKS) and containerised applications.
• Design and manage CI/CD workflows for infrastructure deployment.
• Implement observability and monitoring with Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, and Open Telemetry.
• Champion security and compliance by embedding policies into Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD processes.
• Support migrations into Azure and contribute to the platform roadmap.
• Act as a subject matter expert, mentor colleagues, and liaise with external vendors when required.
• Collaborate closely with product and development teams in an Agile environment.
• Contribute to projects and embed automation and security by design.
