Requirements
- Bachelors degree, or 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience with Linux
- 1 year of experience in Linux system administration, or Linux certifications
- Experience in IT operations and project delivery
- Ability to perform problem isolation and resolution for critical systems with minimal impact and downtime
- Outstanding customer service skills and dedication to the customer service experience
- Result-oriented mindset with a focus on improving efficiency and productivity
- Project coordination and planning experience
- Ability to exercise independent judgment under minimal supervision
- Ability to assess and analyze technical situations and provide viable alternatives
- Self-starter with the ability to learn new skills and knowledge quickly
- Basic programming and scripting knowledge in Bash, Python, or Perl
- Willingness to learn new skills and technology through online resources
- Comfortable working on a 10-12 hour shift schedule
Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice and support to our client institutions and processors to exceed customer expectations
- Maintain detailed documentation and reporting of issues and changes
- Update and maintain global inventory records accurately and on time
- Create and test Linux scripts for vendor field engineers and support teams for installation and activation
- Perform remote system installation with on-site vendor engineer support, including configuration and lockdown of our endpoint servers
- Work proactively with global support groups, clients, and vendors to resolve system problems quickly and deliver flexible solutions
- Escalate critical situations and project risks to management and third-level support in a timely manner
- Ensure server deployments follow our security guidelines and report any non-compliance
- Communicate and work effectively in a global, cross-cultural, and cross-time-zone team
- Work closely with IMAC and project teams to deliver best-in-class solutions and support
- Ensure incidents and changes comply with ITIL and operational policy
- Ensure servers entering production are locked down and meet operational acceptance criteria
- Diagnose problems efficiently by running and reviewing application and network traces
