Salary: £25,000 - 26,000 per year
Requirements
- We are looking for 2+ years of experience in IT support or system administration.
- We need strong technical expertise in Microsoft Windows Server environments, Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- We require experience troubleshooting laptops, printers, peripherals, and general hardware and software issues.
- We are looking for experience with Omnissa Horizon or similar remote desktop/virtual desktop solutions.
- We need familiarity with cloud-based VoIP systems.
- We require knowledge of networking and network management, including WAN, LAN, and VPN.
- We are looking for experience with MDM solutions such as Intune.
- We need excellent problem-solving, customer service, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- We require the ability to work effectively with third-party suppliers and manage escalations.
- We are looking for a security-minded individual who follows security protocols.
- Experience with legal case management tools such as Partner4Windows or similar is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or VMware Certified are advantageous but not required.
Responsibilities
- We resolve helpdesk tickets for internal staff and ensure timely, accurate issue resolution.
- We carry out system administration tasks across Office 365, Azure, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- We perform routine administration activities such as updates, backups, and monitoring.
- We administer our Omnissa Horizon environment and troubleshoot virtual desktop access issues.
- We liaise with third-party suppliers to escalate and resolve problems beyond our internal capability.
- We support legal case management tools such as Partner4Windows where applicable.
- We document processes, procedures, and resolutions in our knowledge base.
- We prepare and deploy new hardware such as laptops and phones to staff.
- We visit our UK offices as needed to support maintenance and roll out new hardware and software.
- We troubleshoot and maintain IT services to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- We may support systems and network improvements, integrations, and new technology rollouts.

We are a well-established law firm with a growing IT team, and this is an urgent junior IT Help Desk Support Engineer role based in St Albans with a salary of £25,000 to £26,000. We work primarily in the office initially, with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote, and we will review the option for 2 days remote after probation.
