Arista Data Center Network Engineer

Salary: £109,200 - 117,000 per year

Requirements

• We need in-depth Arista experience and strong VXLAN EVPN skills in a data center network environment.
• We need experience as a Network Engineer in data center environments.
• We need expertise with both Cisco and Arista technologies.
• We need experience working in multi-vendor network environments.
• We need strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols, including VLAN, STP, VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, and EVPN.
• We need the ability to support a migration project from legacy Cisco network technology to Arista.
• We need the ability to work onsite twice a week, including one day a week in London (City) or North West England.
• We need the flexibility to work some weekends during migration activities.
• We need availability to start as soon as possible for a 6-month contract.
• We need candidates who can meet the requirements of an inside IR35 engagement.

Responsibilities

• We design and implement robust, scalable data center network architectures using Cisco and Arista solutions.
• We migrate legacy Cisco network technology to Arista network technology.
• We configure and maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols, including VLAN, STP, VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, and EVPN.
• We perform day-to-day network administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting in data center environments.
• We support a large migration project for an IT organisation delivering work for a global bank.
• We work collaboratively across a multi-vendor environment spanning Cisco and Arista technologies.
• We carry out migration activities that may require weekend work.
• We attend onsite work twice a week as required.

We are recruiting for a Data Center Network Engineer contract role starting as soon as possible for a 6-month duration, with a rate of £420 to £450 per day inside IR35. The role is remote with one day a week onsite in London (City) or North West England, and some weekend work may be required during migrations. We are supporting a large network migration project for an IT organisation delivering work for a global bank, and interviews are expected in early January 2025.
